Hansen Products

Company Overview:

Sixty years ago Northland Kiwi’s Bert and Dawn Hansen saw an opportunity to manufacture fitting solutions for New Zealand conditions.  Hansen Products started in the 1950’s, when Bert invented his first valve; the design was patented and became the benchmark for industry standards.  This design has been carried through into the new Hansen Superflo and Maxflo Valves.

When brainstorming the new valves the Hansen teams experience in developing high performance valves was invaluable.  There were a number of key points for the design brief; it had to run by Bert’s original principle of “Keep it Simple” and also feedback from our customers who said the main issues with valves currently available are “The Piston valves stick open or closed, Diaphragm valves are too complicated and both are not user friendly, have too many parts and don’t operate consistently at low pressures or in dirty water applications”.  R&D Manager Phil Collins said “this made the design brief for the new Valves simple; they must not stick open or closed, must be user friendly, be able to deliver high volumes of Clean or Dirty fluids at high and low pressures and be simplistic so that “real people” can install and maintain them, which we believe we have addressed”.

From our tests we found many other valves didn’t perform consistently at low pressure or in dirty water.  Therefore we decided that Hansen Valves would have to go through rigorous testing procedures to ensure we keep our promise of “Best Installed Value” to our customers.

At Hansen we believe the Super~flo and Max~flo valves will quickly become the next industry standard of High Performance Float Valves
