Lachie Munro

Prior to the matches, fitness testing was carried out where players to stand out included Toll United Northland Air New Zealand Cup Players of 2009, Lachie Munro and Luke Hamilton who each recorded yoyo fitness testing scores of level 21.
In the trial, slectors JT Thomas, Tony Monaghan and Jared Going were delighted with the standard of play, and singled out Brooke Gilmore, Sione Fonua and Logan Wendt for their fine performances.
There were quite a few unlucky players not to make the squad that included Ross Neal, Daniel McCully, Nat Jull, Jake Wainwright and Kadin TeNana.
Troy Woodman was not considered for selection, as he dislocated his shoulder early in the first trial. Troy will be a big loss to the side.
Following the Mount Maunganui tournament, the squad will be narrowed to twelves players for the National Sevens Tournament in Queenstwon the following weekend.
